Residents, businesses, and community stakeholders across the Capital Planning Region are invited to participate in a virtual open house on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The event provides an opportunity for the public to learn about the plan and share feedback that will help shape the region’s long-term growth and development.
A regional plan outlines how land use, infrastructure, servicing, and economic development can coordinate across the Manitoba capital region. Input gathered during the virtual open house will refine the plan before it is finalized. The full draft regional plan will be released before it is considered for adoption by the province later this year.
“Good regional planning is about making sure we’re ready for growth and the economic opportunities that come with it,” said Myron Dyck, Chair of the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region. “Public input is essential to that work. Hearing from people across the region helps us build a plan that supports jobs, investment, and communities of all sizes. We encourage everyone to take part, learn about regional planning, and share their perspectives.”
Participants in the virtual open house will be able to:
Review key elements of a draft regional plan
Learn more about the regional planning process
Provide feedback on regional priorities
Ask questions about the planning process
This public consultation is a required step in the development and adoption of the regional plan, in accordance with legislative requirements established by the Province of Manitoba. Feedback gathered during this phase will help ensure the plan reflects both regional objectives and local perspectives.
